I am currently reading a book by Souvankham Thammavongsa in which a character narrates, almost in passing, a line that keeps sticking with me.
To know someone's dislikes was to be close to them.
I find this, simply, to be true.
So today, while doing dishes and taking care of everything and every one I can take care of, I have been thinking about some of the things that I know some of the people I am close with don't like, and it brings warmth to my heart.
Cilantro. Entitled, older, white men. Sudden movements. Cold brew. Loud, barking dogs. Eggplant.
be well; be loved,
k.
